Bailer, Dr. Heiko (Head of ESG Quantitative Investments – RepRisk)

Dr. Heiko Bailer joined RepRisk in 2019 and is responsible for building RepRisk’s quantitative investment business. As a former hedge fund manager, he is an expert in quantitative trading strategies.

Prior to joining RepRisk, Heiko co-founded the Swiss Fintech SmartStamp AG, as well as traded long/short US equities at GLAM, Goldcorp Land Asset Manager. Subsequent to that, Heiko was CIO at Swiss Trust Advisors AG and Plenum Investments.

Other previous appointments include: Head of Quantitative Solutions and Asset Allocation at Credit Suisse, Deputy CRO at Harcourt Investment Consulting, Director at Delta One Trading ABN AMRO London, and desk rotations at Deutsche Bank Global Markets in New York, Tokyo, and London.

Heiko received his Master of Science from Ludwig Maximilian University, in Munich, and his PhD in Applied Statistics from the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, USA.

Bosco, Matteo (Partner – Conser Invest)

Matteo Bosco graduated HEC at the University of Lausanne, worked 18 years at Credit Suisse in the corporate department for multinational clients in Zurich and then in the asset management where he led the asset management division in Italy from 2001 till 2009. He then spent 8 years with Aberdeen Asset Management where he lead the region Switzerland and Southern Europe.
In 2018 Matteo joined Conser, a portfolio sustainability check fin-tech solution.

Degosciu, Dr. Michel (Founder – LPX Group)

Dr. Michel Degosciu is founding partner of LPX Group and is responsible for Business Development. Before co-founding LPX Group in 2004 he has conducted various studies about Listed Private Equity at the University of Basel. He holds a master degree with a major in Corporate Finance from WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management and a PhD in Finance from University of Basel.

Döbeli, Sabine (CEO – Swiss Sustainable Finance)

Sabine Döbeli has worked in the field of sustainable finance for over 20 years in different roles. After building up Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF) she has been its CEO since 2014. Previously, she was Group Head of Corporate Sustainability Management at Vontobel where she was responsible for the setup of sustainable investment products and globally coordinated sustainability topics. At Zürcher Kantonalbank she built up the sustainability research unit within the financial analysis department and was involved in the launch of various sustainable investment products. Sabine holds a Masters in Environmental Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich and a post-graduate degree in business administration from the University of Basel.

Frésard, Laurent (Professor of Finance – USI)

Laurent Frésard is Professor of Finance at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) and holds an SFI Senior Chair. Previously, he was a Professor at HEC Paris and the University of Maryland. He is a regular speaker at leading finance conferences worldwide and his research has been published in top academic journals. His research mainly studies the connections between finance and the real economy. His most recent research focuses on the role of big data for the efficiency of financial markets. He holds a PhD in Finance from the University of Neuchatel

Gambardella, Luca Maria (Professor in AI – USI)

Luca Maria Gambardella is full Professor in AI at the Faculty of Informatics of USI in Lugano and IDSIA, the “Dalle Molle” Institute for Artificial Intelligence (USI-SUPSI).  He is a co-founder of Artificialy in Lugano where he holds the positions of  Chief Technology Officer. In his career he has successfully negotiated, conducted and delivered many AI and ML projects with Swiss and international companies. He writes novels and realize artistic digital installations.

Longchamp, Yves (Head Research – SEBA Bank)

Yves Longchamp is Head of Research at SEBA Bank. His professional experience has taken him from the Swiss National Bank to the world of crypto-currencies via major banks and asset management. Market finance and macroeconomics are the research topics that mark out his career. Before joining SEBA, Yves worked at Ethenea Independent Investor, Pictet & Cie, UBS and the Swiss National Bank.

Moss, David (CEO – StrongBlock)

David Moss is Founder and CEO of StrongBlock, a blockchain software company. Previously, David led blockchain technology development and developer relations for EOSIO – a 3rd generation blockchain protocol – as SVP of Technology Operations at Block.One, which raised a record $4b. David was the founder of a technology and management consultancy for Fortune 100 companies and was the founding CIO of Edmunds.com. David is a sought-after keynote speaker on blockchain technology and its real-world applications.

Nowak, Eric (Professor at USI – Director of the Swiss Finance Institute Lugano)

Eric Nowak is Full Professor at Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) where he is Director of the Swiss Finance Institute (SFI) Lugano / Istituto di Finanza (IFIN). Since 2016 he is the Director of the Master in Financial Technology and Computing (Fintech). His research on corporate governance, private equity, and IPOs was published in leading international journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Business Venturing, and Business History, and he co‐authors a textbook on Corporate Governance. Prof. Nowak studied at the Universities of St. Gallen (HSG), Bocconi, and Chicago. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from HSG and obtained his venia legendi in Business Administration from the Goethe University of Frankfurt. From 2010‐2011 he served as the Rock Center for Corporate Governance Visiting Scholar at Stanford University. From 2017‐18 he was Senior Visiting Professor in Risk Management at the National University of Singapore (NUS). Since 2016 he is Adjunct Professor at the Luxembourg School of Finance.

Eric has a wide range of practical experience in Hedge Funds and knowledge in entrepreneurship from Fintech start‐ups. Among the start‐ups he has co‐founded, he still is in the supervisory board of IRX Investor Relations Exchange formerly aktionaersforum AG, an online shareholder communication company, he was the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Swiss Rating Agency SA, and member of the
scientific board of CEPRES GmbH, a web‐interfaced private equity data provider. In 2010, he had cofounded Aurarius Fund, a Volatility Arbitrage Hedge Fund, which had been active in trading until 2013 and received the Investors Choice Award as Emerging Volatility & Tail Hedge Fund of The Year 2012.

Professor Nowak maintains close cooperative relationships with Swiss and European policymakers and regulators. He has frequently testified as an academic expert for SIX Swiss Exchange Regulation, the European Parliament, the German Ministry of Finance, and the German Parliament (Finanzausschuss und Rechtsausschuss des Deutschen Bundestages zu Fragen der Vorstandshaftung). He also was OECD Consultant on Corporate Governance of Non‐Listed Companies. He is frequently cited in the media and was referred to as “The Corporate Governance Specialist” by Manager Magazin and AFP.

Poretti, Giacomo (Senior Researcher – SUPSI / President – TBTA)

Giacomo Poretti graduated from ETH Zurich with a focus on Informatics and has worked in technology initiatives in finance and industrial sectors.
Currently, Mr Poretti oversees Technology Transfer for the Information System and Networking Institute of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) with the objective to inform, connect, and coach technology entrepreneurs, enabling them to rapidly transform ideas into world changing companies through scientific research projects.
He is also president of the Ticino Blockchain Technologies Association (TBTA). The association promotes and facilitates innovation and research in the blockchain area, bringing together public and private sectors, with the aim of promoting research and development of all technologies related to blockchain and decentralized applications.

Raballo, Michele (Managing Director – Accenture Interactive)

Michele Raballo is a Managing Director within Accenture Interactive practice and leads the Commerce capability in the Milan Center of Excellence. Michele has over 17 years’ experience at Accenture with a proven track record of sales and delivery. His experience extends across the full project lifecycle, from planning and design to transition, on large scale engagements.

He is an expert in Solution Design for omni-channel Commerce and has an extensive knowledge of online and back-end solutions. Currently, he is engaged at different levels in all the major omni-channel Commerce implementations and opportunities.

Rokkum-Testi, Maggie (Head of Strategic Investments – Copernicus Wealth Management / Pangea Blockchain Fund)

Maggie Rokkum-Testi is Head of Strategic Investments at Copernicus Wealth Management and portfolio manager of Pangea Blockchain Fund. Previously, she was the Chief Investment Officer of Copernicus Asset Management and member of the executive committee of the firm. Prior to joining Copernicus, Maggie was the CEO & CIO and Co- Founder of Thalìa SA. From the launch of Thalia in 2003, Ms. Rokkum-Testi was responsible for all the investment solutions managed by the company, and for the Advisory relationships with Institutional Investors. The Investment team at Thalìa managed award-winning Funds of Hedge Funds from 2003 and at peak, managed USD $3.5 BN. In 2018, Thalìa was taken over by Copernicus Asset Management SA. Maggie is Vice President of the Ticino Blockchain Technologies Association, a non-profit blockchain competence center

Schlichting, Lars (DLT Lawyer – Partner Kellerhals Carrard)

During his professional experience Lars has always worked in the regulated field, first as an employee of the Swiss financial regulator (former Swiss federal banking commission, now FINMA), then within KPMG as responsible for the legal/regulatory area in Ticino/Switzerland.

In 2016 Lars began to devote himself to the blockchain and crypto sector, advising especially crypto funds, crypto exchangers and as legal/tax advisor to different Token Offering. In this field, he advised clients in the whole process, starting from the structuring of the coin, the ruling with the supervision and the tax authorities, the drafting of the white paper and of the Terms & Conditions of the ICOs. In 2020 he established one of the first company with a contribution in crypto and the tokenization of the shares.

Since 2018 Lars runs different ventures in the blockchain and crypto field like BitIncubator & Ventures SA, a Swiss based company which manages ibx.ch, the digital asset platform on the blockchain or the Poseidon Group, including the wallet application Eidoo and the DeFi crosschain token PNT. In addition to that, Lars joins Kellerhals Carrard in Lugano, where he is leading its blockchain practice.

Lars is also member of the Executive Committee of the Ticino Blockchain Technology Association, Head of the Southern Chapter of the CryptoValley Association and member of the advisory board of the Swiss LegalTech Association.

During his working experience, Lars has written different contributions on regulatory laws, including Money Laundering, Stock Exchange Act, Banking Act and Automatic Exchange of Information. He has also written a book on consolidated supervision of legal and reputational risks within financial groups.

Lars today is also introducing the blockchain technology to institutional entities.

Schwitter, Stefan (Head Invest Solutions – SEBA Bank)

Stefan Schwitter has 25 years of relevant experience in executive and senior roles in Wealth-, Asset Management and Trading. Before joining SEBA Bank as head investment solutions, Stefan ran the global Investment & Products division for VP Bank Group. Before that he lead the Investment Services Europe department for LGT Bank and the global Active Advisory for EFG Bank. Stefan started his career as an option market maker at UBS and structured product trader at Credit Suisse. He is an expert in building global cross-asset product shelves and has hands-on experience in the Fintech space. Stefan holds master degrees in Business Administration, Management and Innovation.

Somerville, Susanne (CEO – Chronicled)

Susanne is CEO Chronicled, focusing on establishing networks powered by blockchain to automate the way companies do business together.  She is one of the founders of the MediLedger Network, established for the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences industry, with solutions already available to enable prescription medicine verification, and automation of revenue management processes.  She brings over 25 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, and supply chain experience. Susanne was most recently the Vice President of Supply Chain, North America, for Genentech, member of the Roche Group.

Terreni, Carlo (President – LifestyleTech Competence Center)

Carlo Terreni is President of the LifestyleTech Competence Center, a research and development institute co-founded in Lugano from USI, SUPSI, Guess, Microsoft, Bally, Accenture, Loomish, Dagorà and Hyphen.The focus of the Innovation hub is to 1) co-finance R&D projects, 2)set-up research labs and 3) scout innovative technologies and companies from Europe. The R&D Center focuses on major industries FashionTech, FoodTech, HealthTech and TravelTech. Mr Terreni is  founding member of Loomish Innovation Management, a consulting company based in Lugano supporting brands, tech providers and investors to generate value and business opportunities
