Allen, Trevor (Product manager – BNP Paribas)

Trevor Allen is a product manager in the risk and performance division for BNP Paribas. He has over 9 years of experience working for BNP Paribas in the US, the UK and France, where he has worked with new and existing clients to create and tailor risk and performance reporting products to their needs, and helped these clients to gain a deeper understanding of the impact of their investments. Trevor has been dedicated to researching Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) reporting and Liability Driven Investment reporting, to understand how best clients can communicate how these elements are driving the risk and performance of their portfolios.  He holds degrees in finance and an MBA from Arcadia University in the US.

Arnet, LORENZ (Senior Counsel – SFAMA)

Lorenz Arnet is a Senior Counsel the Swiss Funds and Asset Management Association SFAMA and Head of the Asset Management Platform Switzerland.
From 2009 to 2016 he was a founding partner at InCube Group, a Swiss-based consulting and technology company focused on the financial services business.
From 2002 to 2008 he worked for Barclays Capital in London and Zurich. At Barclays he helped building up and expanding the derivatives business in Switzerland. From 2006 onwards he was the head of the derivatives business for Swiss institutional clients and a member of the management team.
Lorenz Arnet holds a Master in Finance from the University St. Gallen (HSG) and is a CAIA charter holder. Furthermore he is a founding member of the Commodity Club Switzerland and a board member at IFR Asset Management.

In 2015 Tommaso creates CrowdFundMe with the mission of helping italian firms to rais money in the equity market. In 2016 the first campaign was closed by 31/12/201716 the portal raised €500.000. YTD CrowdFundMe raides €2.3mln funding more than 12 firms from over 1000 investors.

Barone-Adesi, Giovanni (Professor of Economics – USI)

Giovanni Barone-Adesi is Professor of Economics at the Università della Svizzera italiana. Prof. Barone-Adesi held an SFI Senior Chair from 2006 to 2016. He is President of OpenCapital, an asset management firm based in Lugano. His recent research has focused on developing new tools for the management of market risk.

Baroni, Paolo (Director R&D – Superflat)

After graduating in Physics, a sports scholarship led him to achieve an MBA at LUISS Guido Carli, and to move his first steps in the financial sector, an ideal setting for his modus operandi thanks to the energy and breadth of horizons it offers. Bernardi, Daniele (CEO – Diaman SCF)

Born in 1969, Chairman of Diaman Sicav and CEO of Diaman, a Group dedicated to the development of profitably investment strategies, Daniele Bernardi is an entrepeneur costantly searching for innovation. Bernardi activity is oriented to the development of mathematic models, which simplify investors and family offices decision making processes, for risk reduction. He is the author of interesting academic papers about innovation in finance, published by Wilmott Magazine in May 2014 and on Journal of Accounting and Finance in April 2015. Models, indexes, and indicators developed by Bernardi have been presented in international conferences such as the Financial Management Association Conference in Denver, the World Financial Conference in Shanghai and World Financial Management Association Conference in Venice and Nashville. Bernardi is board member of two software development firms based in US Dinasty Inc. and Finlogic Inc.

Betschart, Lucas (President of the Bitcoin Association Switzerland)

Lucas Betschart is co-founder of the technology consulting company Blockchain Source and the president of the Bitcoin Association Switzerland. He is guest lecturer on the topic of Bitcoin at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration (HZW), as well as a speaker at various conferences and meetups all around the world.

Bissoli, Paola (Sr Business Development Manager – Aberdeen AM)

Paola joined Aberdeen Standard Investments as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Paola joined Aberdeen in 2015 from Saint George Capital Management (UnipolSAI Assicurazioni, formerly Fondiaria-SAI Group) where she was CEO and Investment Manager. Previously, Paola worked as Hedge Fund Manager for Banca Gesfid (Fondiaria-SAI Group), Vicos SA, Banca Zarattini &CO.
Paola graduated with a  MSc in Chemical Engineering from Politecnico di Torino. Paola is a director of the London board of the 100 Women in Finance association and co-head of CAIA Zurich Chapter.

 

Boehler, Dominique (Head Public Distribution Structured Products and ETFs CH – Commerzbank)

Dominique Boehler, Head Public Distribution Structured Products and ETFs Switzerland, began his career with Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in 2004, initially responsible for the distribution of Structured Products in France and later in Switzerland. After having joined Commerzbank he additionally received the mandate for the distribution of ETFs. Further, he is an active member of various business related associations and committees (SSPA, SFAMA & KSP). Dominique Boehler is a graduate from Oxford University, the London School of Economics and Cass Business School and holds degrees in Strategy and Innovation, Operational Research and Systems Sciences.

Bosoni, Silvia (Head of ETFs, ETPs, open end Funds – Listing & Market Development – Borsa Italiana)

Graduating from Bocconi University, Silvia started in Morgan Guaranty Trust  in 1996  before moving to BNP Paribas. She joined Borsa Italiana in ‘99 where she worked in the covered warrant, certificates and fixed income department, developing the SeDeX and MOT markets. Since January 2008 Silvia has been responsible for ETFs Listing and the development of the ETFplus market. In December 2014, her team launched the new market segment dedicated to traditional mutual funds.

Freyeisen, Alexis (Global Emerging Markets Equities Specialist – UBS Asset Management)

Alexis Freyeisen is an Equity Specialist in the Global Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific Equities team, based in Zurich. He is responsible for the marketing and communication of Emerging Markets and Asian equity strategies. Prior to taking on his current role in May 2014, Alexis was an associate Equity Specialist in the global capabilities team covering a broad range of active equity strategies. Alexis joined UBS in March 2013 in the wealth management division as associate Discretionary Mandate Specialist. FUCHS, Markus (Managing Director – SFAMA)

Markus Fuchs has been working in the fund and asset management industry since 1992. He built up and headed the Products & Fund Services team at Bank Hoffman, a subsidiary of Credit Suisse in the nineties. From 2000 until 2004 he headed the fund product management team of Swiss Life as CEO of Swiss Life Funds AG. He then joined UBS AG as a Managing Director (Global Wealth Management & Swiss Bank / Products & Services) where he had the overall responsibility for proprietary hedge fund products. In November 2010 he joined the Swiss Funds Association SFA as a Senior Counsel, namely in charge of the areas asset management and alternative investments. In July 2013 he became the Managing Director of SFA, which since then operated under the name Swiss Funds & Asset Management Association SFAMA. Oliver Heusser is Head of Funds Secondary Trading at Bank Julius Baer. Howells, Christian (Head of Investment Specialist – Aberdeen Standard Investments)

Christian Howells is Head of Investment Specialists for Aberdeen Solutions, the home for multi-asset and specialist alternatives investing within Aberdeen. Previously, he was a product specialist in Aberdeen’s Alternatives division, covering hedge funds, private equity, property and infrastructure. Christian joined Aberdeen Standard Investments as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Christian joined Aberdeen in 2010 via the acquisition of various asset management businesses from Royal Bank of Scotland where he was responsible for over $1bn of Private Equity and Real Estate fund investments. Before moving to the front office, Christian oversaw the administration of RBS Asset Management’s alternative investment strategies and, prior to that, was a manager in the product risk and regulatory risk departments in Coutts & Co.

Kumar, Amit (Portfolio Manager, US Equities – Columbia Threadneedle)

Amit Kumar is portfolio manager for the American Absolute Alpha Fund and the American Extended Alpha Fund. He is also responsible for researching US companies across the consumer discretionary and technology sectors.
Amit joined the company in 2014 as a senior portfolio analyst in the US Equities team. Before joining the company, Amit spent seven years with Artham Capital and Swiss Re Asset Management, where he worked as a research analyst. Prior to that, he spent nine years in the technology industry IBM, TCS and a number of tech start-up firms.
Amit holds an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School and a BSc in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Lang, Thiemo (Senior Portfolio Manager – RobecoSam)

Thiemo Lang is a Senior Portfolio Manager responsible for the RobecoSAM Smart Energy Strategy. Prior to joining RobecoSAM, he was Senior Portfolio Manager at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch where he managed the “Infology” technology strategy which focused on companies in the fields of energy technologies and new materials. He co-managed various mutual and institutional funds and was responsible for the conception and launch of the Activest-Lux NanoTech strategy at Activest (HypoVereinsbank) in Munich. He began his investment career as a Technology Analyst at Activest before being promoted to Portfolio Manager. Prior to his experience in investments, he was a development engineer with Siemens in Munich. Milla, Michele (Partner – Momentum Alternative Investments)

Degree in Economics from the Luigi Bocconi University of Milan in 1992. In the same year he started to work at Milla&Co SIM Spa, which was later to become Gruppo Banca Leonardo. He was head of equity from 1996 to 2003. The bank’s brokerage department focused on selling Italian equity research to institutional investors, mostly hedge funds. He was a Board member from 1996 to 2005. In 2006, after the sale of the bank to a group of institutional investors, he was entrusted with setting up the bank’s asset management branch and launching two hedge funds. Mungo, Paola Antonella (University Professor)

Paola Antonella Mungo has been the co CEO of Azimut Group, independent listed financial group with an international presence, until the end of April 2017, having yet covered the role of General Manager from 2007 of the same group. She has been also executive committee and Board member of the companies of the group since the beginning. Previously Ms Mungo covered tasks with growing responsibilities within the legal department of the financial-insurance Group, Zurich Financial Services. After her first-class honors degree in Law, Ms Mungo carried out her lawyer apprenticeship at a famous legal firm in Milan. She’s  keynote speaker at several round-table discussions and international conferences and teaches at courses and highly specialized masters at prestigious Universities.

Parodi, Marialuisa (CIO – Soave Asset Management)

Investment manager with more than 20 years’ experience of working in international and multicultural environments,  mainly as  global fixed income fund  manager and macro analysist and strategist. Served on several Investment Committees in the UK, Italy, Switzerland and France, focusing on both institutional and private clients.
Committed to gender equality,  in the last 10 year Marialuisa has been   actively promoting initiatives and projects  to empower women,  including the  Forum 54 Donne Elettrici Political Agenda in Tessin. She has served as President of BPW (Business Professional Women) Club Ticino  and as member of the national BPW Equal Pay Day Task Force (2013-2016);   she is currently Vice President of FAFTPlus, the 60 years old Federation of Female Associations of  Tessin,  now open for membership  to all institutions, private and public,  willing to promote gender diversity and inclusion.

Marialuisa is a member of the Consultative Commission of SUPSI- DEASS, Dipartimento Economia Aziendale,  Sanità e Sociale and a member of CFA Institute Association, Italian Society.  She  has Italian and Swiss nationality, lives in Ticino, is married and mother of two sons.

Pasquali, Davide (President- Pharus Sicav)

Davide Pasquali is  the president of Pharus SICAV since it was established in 2002 and he joined Pharus Management SA in 1999. Since July 2007 he works as vice president and director. He, he is the director of Pharus Management Lux SA, again since it was established in 2012, and since October 2012 he has been the president of Multi Stars SICAV.

Pellegrinelli, Rocco (CEO – Trendrating)

Rocco Pellegrinelli began his career as a portfolio manager. He has been a successful entrepreneur in the technology sector for the past 20 years. He created Brainpower in 1996 and established it as one of the top portfolio management systems globally. After an IPO on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange in 2000, Brainpower was acquired by Bloomberg in 2006.
He then started a massive project of research and development that resulted in the launch of Trendrating . Trendrating is a world leader in momentum analytics and technology for asset and wealth managers and is a strategic partner to the London Stock Exchange to develop smart beta indices on a global scale.

Picard, Alain (Head Product Management – SIX Swiss Exchange)

After 8 years in banking, Alain Picard joined SIX Swiss Exchange in 2001 as Product Manger for Equities including Derivatives and ETFs. In the past years he concentrated his activities mainly on the development and marketing of the ETF segment and is also responsible for the introduction of new financial product segments. Alain holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and an executive master in private banking and wealth management from Swiss Universities of Applied Sciences.

Puertas, Luis (EMEA Regional Director – FlexFunds)

Prior to FlexFunds Luis worked for WisdomTree and ETF Securities as Director of Sales and Head of Iberia & Latin America, respectively. Before that he worked for Morgan Stanley, Bloomberg and previously worked as a corporate lawyer at “Ramon y Cajal Albella” and “Garrigues” (Commercial and Banking Law).
Luis holds two master degrees in Economics and Law from ICADE University (E-3, Madrid) and major in Finance from Nottingham Business School, UK.

Reali, Stefano (Vice Director – Pharus Management)

Mr. Reali is vice Director of Pharus Management SA, he is an Equity Market specialist and member of the investment committee. Before joining the Pharus Management team in September 2013, he was Equity Portfolio Manager for Ras Asset Management SGR (now Allianz Global Investors SGR) member of the Pan European Equity team and responsible of mutual fund Allianz High Dividend. Rokkum-Testi, Maggie (CEO/CIO – Thalia)

Maggie is CEO, CIO and Co-Founder of Thalìa SA. Since the launch of the company in 2004, Maggie has been responsible for the investment process, for all the investment solutions managed by the company and for the Advisory relationships with Institutional Investors and sophisticated Private Clients since inception. She became the CEO in March 2016 and along with Thalìa’s CFO, is responsible for all business aspects and for managing Thalìa’s team.
As CIO, Maggie manages the investment team, comprised of a deputy CIO and 5 portfolio managers/analysts and chairs the Investment Committees. In 2015, Maggie was celebrated among the “50 Leading Women in Hedge Fund” by the Hedge Fund Journal in association with Ernst and Young and was nominated “Hedge Fund Personality of the year” by the magazine Wealth and Management.

Rutz, Thomas (Fund Manager – MainFirst)

 

Thomas Rutz has worked as a portfolio manager at MainFirst since 2012 and is responsible for investments from emerging countries for the MainFirst Emerging Markets Corporate Bond Fund Balanced and the MainFirst Emerging Markets Credit Opportunities Fund. He is CEO and partner and also heads MainFirst Affiliated Fund Managers (Switzerland) AG. Prior to that, Thomas headed the Emerging Markets Division at Clariden Leu, with teams for equities, bonds and currency, managing assets totalling over €1 billion. As head of the division, he was responsible for investment strategy in emerging markets. Thomas holds an MBA in Financial Services and Insurance (MBA-FSI) from the University of St. Gallen and Vlerick Business School.

 

 

Sabato, Daniele (Head of ETF Sales Trading – Intermonte SIM)

Daniele after studied Economics at Bocconi University spent one year at the IGIER (Innocenzo Gasparini Institute for Economic Research) like a Researcher. He followed his career in the Macro and Asset Allocation Team of one of the biggest Italian Asset Managers. He got several roles in some big international banks following institutional clients until the 2011 when Daniele moved to the ETF Universe. He was in charge of the Southern Europe clients coverage for one of the biggest ETF market makers, since 2014 he is working for Intermonte like Head of ETF Sales Trading.

Schlichting, Lars (Partner, Responsible Legal Department Canton Ticino CH – KPMG)

Prior to joining KPMG in 2007, he worked at the legal department of the former Swiss Federal Banking Commission (now FINMA) for 5 years.
His key areas of experience are commercial and banking laws, with an important experience in compliance matters. He advises clients in anti money laundering issues, internal controls, market abuse, investments collective schemes, asset managers and international assistance. Further, he has useful knowledge and experience in the identification of legal and reputation risks in the financial sector and has written a dissertation on this subject.
Lars was one of the earlier adopter of blockchain technology and cryptocurrencies. Since 2016 he advices clients in regulatory issues related to cryptocurrencies activity and has also completed a number of Initial Coin Offering. Lars is collaborating with private associations for the establishment of a crypto based environment.
Lars Schlichting has issued numerous publications, among other concerning the consolidate supervision of financial groups and the comments of the Security Exchange, the Money Laundering Act, the FINMA Act and the Banking Act.

 

Stevens, Louis (Head of Sustainable Fund Sales – Liontrust)

Louis is responsible for distributing the Liontrust Sustainable Future proposition in the UK and Europe. Prior to joining Liontrust, Louis was at Alliance Trust Investments (ATI) for 4 years and had been Head of Sales since 2015, focused exclusively on the distribution of SRI funds. His experience includes the launch and development of SRI funds across a range of asset classes, and expanding the ATI offering to both institutional and wholesale clients across Europe.

Louis has an MSc in International Business Studies from the University of Manchester, also studying at the Tecnólogico de Monterrey and Universidad de Pamplona. He holds the CFA Society of the UK Investment Management Certificate.

Teileche, Jérome (Managing Director – Unigestion)

Jérôme Teiletche, Managing Director, is Head of Cross Asset Solutions and a member of the Unigestion Executive Committee. He joined Unigestion in 2014.Jérôme began his career in 1999 as an Economist in the Forecasting Directorate at the French Ministry of Finance in Paris. In 2001, he joined Natixis CIB as Strategist–Economist focusing on Global Asset Allocation issues and became Senior Quantitative Analyst at the Alternative Investment Division of Societé Generale Asset Management, Paris in 2006. Waechter, Philippe (Chief Economist – Natixis Global Asset Management)

Philippe Waechter is Chief Economist at Natixis Asset Management and head of the Economic Research Unit.
He was previously head of economic research at Banque Populaire Asset Management, a predecessor company to Natixis. He began his investment career as an economist in the Asset Management Unit at BRED Banque Populaire.

Franz Welponer is the head of Wholesale Distribution at Natixis Global Asset Management for Italy, Ticino, Malta, Greece and Cyprus. Zangana, Azad (Senior European Economist & Strategist – Schroders)
