Ambrosini, Luca (CEO & Co-Founder – Pepper)

Bachelor and Master in Computer Science, Luca Ambrosini is an entrepreneur in the blockchain space and former pro-gamer.

Crypto enthusiast since 2013, when he started mining the first Bitcoins and devised automated cryptocurrency trading systems. Luca leads the Blockchain Research Area at SUPSI in Lugano and founded a crypto mining factory that makes use of renewable energy. Luca also founded Pepper, a startup active in the intersection of the world of digital assets and gaming.

Blümel, Gernot (CEO – Superfund Group)

Gernot Blümel, born in 1981 in Vienna, is CEO of the Superfund Group of Investment companies since March 2022. Before he was member of the Austrian government. He served as Minister for Finance from January 2020 to December 2021 and from December 2017 to May 2019 as Minister for EU, Arts & Culture and Media. Previous to these positions he was General Secretary of the Austrian Peoples Party and served as employee in the Austrian Ministry for European and international affairs as well as in the Austrian Parliament. He studied Philosophy at the University of Vienna and University of Burgundy and holds an MBA from the Vienna University of Economics.

Bosco, Matteo (Partner – Conser Invest)

Matteo Bosco graduated HEC at the University of Lausanne, worked 18 years at Credit Suisse in the corporate department for multinational clients in Zurich and then in the asset management where he led the asset management division in Italy from 2001 till 2009. He then spent 8 years with Aberdeen Asset Management where he lead the region Switzerland and Southern Europe.
In 2018 Matteo joined Conser, a portfolio sustainability check fin-tech solution.

Butti, Massimo (Head of Equity – SDX)

Over the years Massimo has worked for investment banks, prop trading firms, market makers and exchanges with roles in trading product and market development, cooperating closely with buy-side and sell-side traders, analysts and portfolio managers and helping creating markets and strategies to support them.

At SDX he leads the equity team and he is dedicated to enhancing the funding process for private companies and improving the issuance, custody, and transfer of digital securities in SDX’s regulated CSD. He is responsible for reinforcing the interaction and collaboration between equity investors and companies in the digital age.

Prior to his current role, Massimo was seven years at the London Stock Exchange where he was head of equity derivatives markets and global account director developing the group key strategic accounts.

Canepa, Stefano (CEO – Aequitax)

Stefano Canepa was born in Italy on January 25, 1959. He attended classical studies at high school and graduated in electronical engineering with honors at Genoa University in 1984. He served as an officer of the Italian Army for 1.5 years.

He joined Andersen Consulting in 1985 until 1994 where he attained the position of senior manager specializing in banking organization.

He then served as Director of Organization of an Italian bank and as Director of Consulting Services in an Italian company dealing with Regulatory Reporting.

In 1998 he moved to Switzerland where he was first Head of Application Development at Banca del Gottardo Bank and then Director of Consulting Services at Best Vision SA, a banking software provider, where he led the development of the software interfaces during the rollout of the IRS QI System in Europe. He’s probably one of the last active people who worked on the original version of that system.

In 2005 he founded Aequitax SA in Lugano, Switzerland, a company specialized in recovering overwithholding which since then has been the market leader in Italy. He’s the CEO.

In 2017 Stefano created Aequitax SA Luxembourg with the objective of studying the Luxembourg indirect investment market: the company successfully pioneered the recovery of overwithholding despite the heavy delays due to COVID.

Although he is a Tax preparer since several years and probably one of the best experts in US taxation for NRAs, Stefano can not be an enrolled agent because of his lack of accounting education at school. Nevertheless, the IRS entrusted him with a CAF number.

Being Italian his native language, Stefano speaks fluent English, French, good Spanish and basic German.

He lives… in Europe.

Carcano, Alida (Managing Director – BG Valeur)

The management of assets and savings of families and investors is my passion. I have been fortunate enough to discover from a very young age the job that fascinated me and that I have been into ever since: the financial markets on the one hand, with their being often surprising, and savers on the other, with the stories of their lives, a fascinating and constantly evolving combination. You never stop learning, and this makes the profession of financial consultant particularly interesting. Investments are increasingly interconnected with aspects of life in general. Also for this reason I decided to specialize in ethical, sustainable and impactful investments. I like to compare my perspectives with the new generations’: for the first time in history, we shall learn from the youngest.

Ghielmini, Gloria (Head of Sustainable Fund Analysis – Credit Suisse)

Gloria Ghielmini is the Head of Sustainable Fund Analysis at Credit Suisse.
She works in the Wealth Management division selecting funds according to their sustainable profiles. She has over 10 years’ experience in analyzing and advising responsible investment solutions.
Gloria holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Pavia, and an Executive Master in Development Policies and Practices from the Graduate Institute of Geneva. She is certified Associate Wealth Manager by the SFAA, certified ESG Analyst by the EFFAS and certified expert in Microfinance.

Gianti, Stefano (Education Manager – Swissquote Bank)

Stefano Gianti is Education Manager for Swissquote Bank, a world leader in online trading.
His training sessions focus on the correct management of portfolio risks and maximizing profits through the use of CFDs on equity indices, commodities and currencies.
His analysis also focuses on the Macroeconomic situation of the markets and related events that could influence them. He is member of SIAT (Italian Society of Technical Analysis). Grantham, Samuel (Investment Director – abrdn)

Samuel Grantham is an Investment Director at abrdn. He is responsible for managing a number of Global Investment Grade portfolios including dedicated ESG strategies such as sustainable and climate transtion. Samuel is also a member of abrdn’s ESG Network, an on-desk ESG decision making function, and has been a key figure in the development of carbon analysis and reporting tools including co-designing abrdn’s Fixed Income Climate Transition Framework. Samuel graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Chemical and Environmental Engineering from the University of Nottingham and is a CFA charterholder.

Gujan, Andres (Impact Asset Manager – Carnot Capital AG sponsored by GAM)

Andres Gujan co-founded Carnot Capital in 2007. He was an analyst for mechanical engineering, real estate and electricity companies at Valartis Bank. Prior to that, he held senior positions in the brokerage research at Bank Vontobel and Kepler Equities.

Hurry, Stephanie (Head of Institutional Sales – Crypto Finance)

In her role, Head of Institutional Sales at Crypto Finance (Brokerage) AG, Stephanie Hurry focuses on institutional clients. Prior to joining the company, she worked in banking for 12 years in financial markets, strategy, M&A and debt advisory roles at top tier banks in South Africa (Nedbank Group and Absa CIB (previously Barclays Capital).

She has a depth of experience in B2B client service, strong strategic knowledge of the banking industry and a track-record in delivering high value strategic, cross functional projects. Her interest in the role of technology in creating innovative new value propositions pre-empted her transition into the digital asset space.

She has completed an MBA degree (with honours) at IMD Business School, Switzerland, attended an executive education programme at INSEAD, France and holds an undergraduate degree in Economic Science from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.

Köstinger, Elisabeth (CEO – Mountain View)

Elisabeth Köstinger, born in 1978 in Wolfsberg/Austria, is the newly appointed CEO of Mountain-View Data.
From December 2020 to May 2022 she served as Austrian Federal Minister of Agriculture, Regions and Tourism and from December 2017 to May 2019 as Austrian Federal Minister responsible for Environment, Climate and Energy.
Prior to these positions Elisabeth Köstinger was a Member of the European Parliament from July 2009 to December 2017, responsible for Agriculture, Environment and International Trade.
In addition, she held positions as Secretary General of the Austrian People’s Party and President of the Austrian National Council.

Longchamp, Yves, CFA (Head Research – SEBA Bank)

Yves Longchamp is Head Research at SEBA Bank. His professional career has taken him from the Swiss National Bank to the world of crypto-currencies via major banks and asset managers. Market finance, investment strategy and macroeconomics are the research topics that mark out his career. Before joining SEBA Bank, Yves worked a Chief Economist at Ethenea Independent Investor, FX strategist at Pictet & Cie, and UBS and Senior Economist at the Swiss National Bank.

Mall, Gregory, CFA (Head of Investment Solutions – Seba Bank)

Gregory Mall has many years of experience in portfolio management and digital asset management. At SEBA Bank, he is responsible for the product structuring of ETPs, AMCs and structured products as well as for the management of discretionary mandates on digital as well as traditional assets.

Prior to joining SEBA Bank, he worked as a multi-asset fund manager at Credit Suisse. Greg holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen (HSG).

Maurelli, Massimo (CIO – Spafid Family Office SIM)

Massimo Maurelli, is currently Chief Investment Officer at SPAFID Family Office SIM SpA, (the Multi-Family Office of Mediobanca Group) and contract professor at Bocconi University where he teaches a class in Alternative Investments.

Before joining SPAFID FO he served as bond-specialist within the Financial Advisory Team at Banca Generali (2019), Chief Investment Officer at ENPAIA Pension Fund (2016 – 2018), partner at OM Research (2017 – 2019), partner at Abraxas Capital Management (2010 – 2014), founder & managing partner at Mathema Advisors srl (2011 – 2016) an independent company offering asset allocation and risk management services to Italian pension funds. In 2004 i launched a consulting office in Shanghai-China to help Italian Companies to startup local business and promote them.

For many years i lived in Shanghai and in 2011 i published the book “Un Italiano a Shanghai”.

In 2016 i launched Gooruf.com with offices in London, Hong Kong and Milan.

In 2017 i invested in BFC Media, publisher of Forbes Italy and other magazines, websites (including Gooruf.com) and TV channels.

In September 2019 i started hosting the TV show BlockChain&Co and from 2021 the TV sshow Forbes Digital Revolution (on SKY Italy 511, TivuSat Italy 61, Smart TV 260 and BFCvideo.com).

Moroni, Giacomo (MSc, SI Analyst – Robeco)

Giacomo Moroni is Sustainable Investing Analyst responsible for covering Hardware and Semis. He gained his first professional experience in 2016 as a Business Analyst at BIP Business Integration Partners consultancy in London. At his last employer, Red Seed Venture Capital in Milan, he was an Investment Analyst conducting due diligence on start-ups and carrying out industry research, before joining Robeco in 2019. He holds a Bachelor in Management Engineering as well as a Master in Energy and Environmental Management from the Polytechnic University of Milan.

Muller, Wenzel (Senior Private Sales – FlowBank)

Wenzel Müller is Sales Manager at FlowBank SA in the Zurich branch and responsible for the bank’s regional business development activity. He has many years of professional experience in trading and banking. Mr Müller holds a degree in business administration and is a CAIA charterholder.

Plain, Nicola (CEO – Aktionariat)

Nicola Plain graduated from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) with a Master’s degree in Business Innovation and obtained a CAIA Level II certificate a few years later. He worked for five years as a business engineer and project manager in the automotive industry with his small consulting company. Disillusioned by the resistance of large companies to change, he decided to work only in very agile and flexible environments in the future. On 01.02.2021 he joined Aktionariat AG, a company that takes advantage of the new Swiss DLT law to allow companies to create a marketplace for their shares on their own website.

 

 

Schatzmann, Adrian (CEO – AMA)

Adrian Schatzmann became CEO of the Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS) in January 2021. He is also a board member of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) and a member of the Board of Directors of Swiss Fund Data AG. Prior to that, he held various consulting positions, including with the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA), and was founder and Managing Director of Clear Minds Investment AG. Adrian worked for UBS for more than 20 years in Switzerland and Asia in roles such as head of global fund and ETF distribution. He studied economics at the University of St. Gallen.

Schlichting, Lars (DLT Lawyer – Partner Kellerhals Carrard)

During his professional experience Lars has always worked in the regulated field, first as an employee of the Swiss financial regulator (former Swiss federal banking commission, now FINMA), then within KPMG as responsible for the legal/regulatory area in Ticino/Switzerland.

In 2016 Lars began to devote himself to the blockchain and crypto sector, advising especially crypto funds, crypto exchangers and as legal/tax advisor to different Token Offering. In this field, he advised clients in the whole process, starting from the structuring of the coin, the ruling with the supervision and the tax authorities, the drafting of the white paper and of the Terms & Conditions of the ICOs. In 2020 he established one of the first company with a contribution in crypto and the tokenization of the shares.

Since 2018 Lars runs different ventures in the blockchain and crypto field like BitIncubator & Ventures SA, a Swiss based company which manages ibx.ch, the digital asset platform on the blockchain or the Poseidon Group, including the wallet application Eidoo and the DeFi crosschain token PNT. In addition to that, Lars joins Kellerhals Carrard in Lugano, where he is leading its blockchain practice.

Lars is also member of the Executive Committee of the Ticino Blockchain Technology Association, Head of the Southern Chapter of the CryptoValley Association and member of the advisory board of the Swiss LegalTech Association.

During his working experience, Lars has written different contributions on regulatory laws, including Money Laundering, Stock Exchange Act, Banking Act and Automatic Exchange of Information. He has also written a book on consolidated supervision of legal and reputational risks within financial groups.

Lars today is also introducing the blockchain technology to institutional entities.

Vallone, Loris (Managing Director – Ceresio SIM)


Loris has over 20 years of experience in private banking and investment management.

Prior to joining Ceresio, Loris delivered a number of key strategic initiatives within the Julius Baer Group  in Zurich, Lugano, Milan and London. Most recently, he was General Manager at Kairos in Milano (2020-2021), Head of Portfolio Management International in the Investment Management division in Zurich (2018-2019) and Head of Product and Services at Julius Baer’s London office (2017-2018).

From 2002 to 2011, he worked for Credit Suisse, where he built his reputation in consulting and asset management services.

Loris received a Degree in Business Administration from the University of Linz, Austria, with a specialization in Information Technology and Organization.
